Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA) and Podiatry Care

At Maroochy Podiatry, we support those who have served our nation by providing podiatric care through the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA). Whether you’re a veteran, a current or former Australian Defence Force (ADF) member, or a war widow(er), we’re here to ensure your feet receive the attention they deserve.

What is the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA)

The Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) is an Australian Government department dedicated to offering support, services, and information to those who have served in defence of our country, along with their families. The DVA provides access to a range of healthcare services, including podiatric care, to ensure the well-being of those who have made significant contributions to our nation.

Who is Eligible for Podiatric Care through the DVA?

At Maroochy Podiatry, we are registered DVA health care providers, offering our services to eligible DVA clients. To access podiatric care, you must hold one of the following:

  • DVA Gold Card: Provides comprehensive cover for all clinically necessary podiatric services.

  • DVA White Card: Covers podiatric care for specific conditions related to your service. Prior approval from DVA is required for certain services, including diabetic assessments and orthotics, based on your individual reason for holding a White Card.

I’m a DVA Gold or White Card Holder—How Do I Access Podiatry Care?

If you hold a DVA Gold or White Card and are looking to access podiatry services at Maroochy Podiatry, the process is simple:

  1. Obtain a Referral from Your GP
To have your podiatry appointments covered by the DVA, you must first obtain a D904 referral from your General Practitioner (GP). Make sure this referral is specifically made out to Maroochy Podiatry.

  2. Referral Duration
The DVA referral lasts for 12 months or a maximum of 12 visits, whichever comes first. After this period, a new referral from your GP will be required to continue receiving care.
